Bring your Mom & Dad HIKE

October 1, 2010

This Saturday, Oct.2nd at 12pm, we will have our Bring your Mom & Dad HIKE at Wolcott Mill Metro Park. We will be creating a kinda basecamp at the Picnic area adjoining the Historic Mill, overlooking the river.

From there will be leading two Hikes. One is a short stroll to the old Dam area on the river and back to the Picnic area. Hopefully some beautiful Fall colors and the lovely setting of the Mill, Dam and grounds.

Our second Hike will be about 4 1/2 miles, heading again to the Dam, except on the other side of the river, over to the cliffs along the river and circling back through Pine and hardwood forests.

Back at basecamp, we will have Hot dogs & fixens, Muffins, home=made cake, Pops, waters and of course a selection of hot Teas. There is no need to Hike if you do not want to. Sit back and enjoy the Fall colors, the restored Mill and the relaxing environment of Wolcott Mill.

Around 3pm we will head over to the Farm Center and tour the grounds there. The Farm Center is not a petting zoo, but rather an actual working Farm. Barns, cows, chickens, sheep, goats and all the things connected to a working Farm are there.

So join us for this Fall Hike at Wolcott and don’t forget to bring Mom & Dad. It IS their Hike you know. 🙂
