Hiking North/Central Michigan

On May 5th, 2012, Hiking Michigan expanded it’s 14 year old Southeastern Michigan Hiking Group to now cover over 26 counties in the north and central regions of the lower peninsula, with it’s new division, Hiking North/Central Michigan. On that May 5th, we held our first Hike, in the Manistee National Forest. The Hike was a huge success, with 15 different counties being represented, and Hikers showing up from all over the state, just for this Hike.

The new extension group will be doing nature Hikes like the S.E.MI. group does, but will also be doing overnight Camping, Canoe and Kayak trips and some Back Packing adventures.

Our North/Central groups director is Mark Wilson of Evart, MI., a very experienced outdoors-man and our primary Trails Leader for many of the upcoming scheduled Hikes and Activities. Like the S.E.MI. Hiking Group, all it takes is an email request to Hiking Michigan, to make you a member. Indicate what county you live in so that we can better locate Hikes and activities in YOUR region of the state. Either drop in at the web site or send an email to:  rgolda@hikingmichigan.com

If you wish to contact Mark Wilson for Hike or general info about the North/Central Group, he can be reached at:   Mark@hikingmichigan.com

Check out the Hiking Michigan web site for more details on both the S,E,MI. Hiking Group, and our new North/Central Hiking Group. The link below will take you to the HIKES schedule page for the North/Central group.
