Spring Turkeys

April 2, 2011

An even walk out at Stony Creek Metro Park, was like a walk in an open wildlife sanctuary, Animals and birds where out everywhere. Deer, Mink, Rabbits, Herons to name a few. But the highlight of this short walk happened as we where returning to our car. In an open field we came upon a flock of more then 20 Turkeys. There was one dominant male who was keeping everyone in line, and displaying the entire time. He kept testing the only other male in the flock. But he would have none of it.

We watch this flock for almost 20 minutes and then headed back to the car. A great way to end a short walk at Stony Creek Metro Park.
